How can we help? 👋

📲 SMS Messages sent to the UK will be Blocked on the 1st of June

UK network operators are blocking SMS Messages sent through Long Codes.

What do you need to know?

Effective June 1, 2023, network operators in the UK will block SMS messages submitted with International long codes.

What is an International long code?

Phone number long codes are special phone numbers attributed to and used by businesses. They are longer than regular phone numbers and offer more flexibility.

Why is this happening?

UK network operators consider the use of international long codes for Application-To-Person (A2P) SMS as an abuse of Person-To-Person (P2P) routes.

Alternative Options

  1. Consider sending your messaging Campaign through WhatsApp instead to reach UK guests.

  1. Replace your International Long code by applying to one of the following options: a) Short code This is a 5 or 6-digit number that provides a two-way messaging option. Please note that additional legal documentation needs to be submitted, with a 12-16 week delivery time from our Partner. The short codes are only available for businesses in Argentina; Brazil; Canada; Colombia; Dominican Republic; France; Germany; Mexico; New Zealand; Spain; Sweden; United Kingdom. b) Domestic long code This is a two-way messaging option using local UK numbers. Please note that only businesses registered in the UK are eligible to apply for a domestic long code.
