🅰️ Airbnb discontinues Email Aliases

Starting September 30, 2023, Airbnb won't support email aliases. This means you won't be able to email guests. Consequently, responding to guests' messages via Bookboost will also be temporarily unavailable.

From September 30, 2023 onwards, Airbnb will no longer support email aliases. This change means you cannot email guests anymore. As a result, responding to guests' messages via Bookboost will also be temporarily unavailable.
 

This decision is a result of recent changes made by Airbnb to their platform, specifically the removal of the email alias feature, which has been crucial for our solution to work smoothly.

Our efforts

 

We know how important this integration is for many of our customers, and while it's beyond our control, we're sorry for any inconvenience.

Our Product team is actively exploring other options to bring back this feature, but due to Airbnb's changes, there is no viable solution at the moment.

 

While we reached out to Airbnb with efforts to establish a direct integration, we were informed they are not onboarding any new API partners in the upcoming 3 months.

 

We're on it, though, your voice can have a significant influence. Please consider contacting Airbnb to show interest in API support for better communication with Bookboost. 🚀

Bookboost's Recommendations for addressing the challenge

 

By the end of September, prepare your Operations team for Airbnb messages managed exclusively through their platform.

Unfortunately, we couldn't confirm if you'll keep getting email notifications for new messages. If you do, these notifications can still appear in your Bookboost Inbox, but you won't be able to reply back to the guest.

 

However, we're here with helpful suggestions👇

 

1. Scheduled Messages in the Airbnb platform: Inform your guests about other ways to communicate with you faster and more efficientlyWhatsApp, SMS, Email or through your website chatbot widget.

2. Automated Campaign: Engage with OTA guests through automated Bookboost Campaigns. This helps you gather guests' personal contact details and inform them about the available communication channels in case they need assistance.

For example: Channel: 1. WhatsApp 2. SMS 3. Email Trigger: 15 minutes after Reservation was made

Hi [guest name], Now that your booking confirmation is all set, we're here to assist you in any way. To streamline our communication, update your guest details [here]* and reach out through WhatsApp, SMS or email us! And to facilitate our communication, update your guest details [here]* See you soon, Host name

* [here] can be linked to a form. Through Bookboost, you can create a short form requesting email + phone. The guest profile in Bookboost will get an automatic update with the information filled in. 🤩 And the bonus? The following Campaigns will directly reach the guests through their personal contact information.
