Enabling Mobile Notifications for Bookboost Unified Inbox
To stay updated with new messages in your Bookboost Unified Inbox, it's essential to enable mobile notifications.
platform.bookboost.io
website in your mobile browser. If you haven't granted permission for browser notifications from this website on your mobile browser, you won't receive any notifications on your mobile device.
❗❗ Please note that we recommend using Chrome as a browser and therefore this article is based on that fact.
Follow the steps below to set up notifications:
ANDROID
1. Open Your Android Phone Settings
Start by accessing the "Settings" app on your device.
2. Navigate to Apps & Notifications
Scroll to find "Apps & Notifications" and tap on it. This section may have a different name depending on your Android version, such as "Apps" or "Application Manager."
3. Access Chrome Settings
Locate "Chrome" in the list of apps. If it's not immediately visible, tap on "See all apps" to find Chrome, then select it to access its settings.
4. Go to Notifications
Within Chrome's app settings, find and tap on "Notifications". This section allows you to manage how notifications are handled through Chrome.
5. Find the Bookboost Website
In the Notifications section, look for platform.bookboost.io
among the list of sites. If you've not visited the site and attempted to enable notifications in Chrome, it might not appear here. In that case, visit the platform.bookboost.io
site in Chrome, and you'll be prompted to allow notifications.
6. Enable Notifications for Bookboost
Once you find platform.bookboost.io
in the list, tap on it and switch the toggle to "Allow" to enable notifications. This action ensures that you'll start receiving alerts directly from the Bookboost Unified Inbox when there's a new message.
7. Verify Your Setup
To make sure everything is set up correctly, you can send a test message to your Bookboost Unified Inbox. If the setup is successful, you should receive a notification on your device.
By following these steps, you'll ensure that you're always in the loop with new messages, enhancing your responsiveness and engagement with your audience.
iOS
If you are using Chrome on an iPhone to access the Bookboost Unified Inbox, it's important to note that, similar to Safari, Chrome on iOS is subject to Apple's app restrictions.
This means Chrome on an iPhone does not support push notifications for websites, including web apps like Bookboost.
This limitation is due to iOS's restrictions on web engines and notification services, requiring all browsers on iOS to use the WebKit framework, which is the same engine Safari uses and does not support web push notifications.
Workarounds and Recommendations:
Since direct web push notifications are not available through Chrome on iOS, here are some alternative suggestions to ensure you stay informed about new messages in the Bookboost Unified Inbox:
- Email Notifications: Enable email notifications for new messages in Bookboost - Settings - Operators - Notifications.
- Regular Manual Checking: Periodically check your Bookboost Unified Inbox by logging into the platform through any browser.
- Shortcut Automation: If you’re a more advanced tech-savvy user, you can create shortcut automation on iOS that opens Bookboost at scheduled intervals. While not a direct notification, it's a workaround to keep the platform top of mind.
