Managing Booking.com Conversations in Bookboost Inbox
Bookboost currently does not have a direct integration with Booking.com.
Here's how to manage Booking.com conversations effectively:
Setting Up Email Forwarding
Since there is no direct integration, you need to set up an email forwarding rule:
- Forward Emails: Forward all or specific Booking.com emails to your Bookboost Inbox.
- Include All Domains: Ensure you forward emails from all relevant Booking.com domains to avoid missing messages. Example: @guest.booking.com / @mchat.booking.com
Handling Missing URLs in Booking.com chat conversations
Send Full URLs: URLs attached to buttons or words are often removed (Booking.com remove all HTML and CSS). To overcome this challenge, you can:
- Add the full URL to ensure they remain clickable. See the example below.
- Send the Campaign through WhatsApp or SMS, as Booking.com cannot block these.
Replying to Guest Messages
When replying to guest messages in Bookboost Inbox, keep the following in mind:
Email Aliases: Booking.com assigns new email aliases for each guest message (e.g., @guest.booking.com for initial reservations and @mchat.booking.com for new messages).
Here’s how to manage this:
- Check Email Aliases: Ensure the email alias is set as the primary address when replying.
- Switch Back to Personal Emails: After replying, switch back to the guest's personal email address. This ensures they receive further Campasigns directly in their personal email address.
Practical Tips
- Whitelist Domains: Add you own domain and Bookboost domains to the Booking.com Whitelist.
- Verify Email Addresses: Double-check the email address before sending messages, especially for guests with personal emails in their profiles.
- Use Plain Text URLs in Campaigns: Include URL tokens as plain text in campaigns targeting OTA guests to ensure accessibility.
