How To Set Up Whatsapp In Bookboost
📌 Before you begin
If Bookboost is providing the WhatsApp number, please make sure that the SMS channel is already connected to your Bookboost account. The verification code from Meta will then appear directly in your Bookboost Inbox.
👉 If, for any reason, you do not wish to use the SMS channel, please inform your Onboarding Coordinator before proceeding. They will guide you on the correct steps to take.
🔐 Step 1: Make Sure You Have Admin Access to Meta
You’ll need to log in with a Facebook account that:
- Is an admin of your company’s Meta Business Manager, and
- That Business Manager must be verified by Meta.
📌 If your company doesn’t have a Business Manager yet, you’ll be able to create one but Meta must verify it before WhatsApp can be activated (this may take a few days).
🛠️ Step 2: Start in Bookboost
- Log in to your Bookboost account.
- Go to
Settings > Integration
.
- Select your property (top of the page).
- Click on WhatsApp, then Complete the form.

🔗 Step 3: Log In with Facebook and Choose a Business Account
After clicking Complete the form, you’ll be redirected to Facebook.
Log in with the Facebook account that has admin access to your company’s Meta Business Manager.
You will then see a screen asking you to Choose a Business Account.

Here’s what to do: ✅ If your company already has a Meta Business Manager:
- You’ll see one or more business names listed (e.g., "Jasper’s Market").
- Select the one that belongs to your company — ideally, the one that is already verified by Meta.
- This will allow you to move forward without delays.
📌 Not sure which one to select?
Ask your team or Bookboost onboarding coordinator for help before continuing.
🆕 If your company does not have a Business Manager yet:
- Click on “Create a Business Account”.
- You’ll be asked to enter company details (name, website, etc.).
- Meta will review and verify your business, which may take a few days.
- You won’t be able to finish the WhatsApp setup until it’s verified.

- Only choose a Business Account that belongs to the company using WhatsApp.
- If you’re linked to multiple businesses in Meta, double-check with your team before selecting.
💼 Step 4: Choose a WhatsApp Business Account
You’ll now see two options:
Option 1: Create a new WhatsApp Business account
Recommended if you’ve never used WhatsApp API before.
Option 2: Use an existing WhatsApp Business account
If you’ve already connected WhatsApp to Bookboost for another property, you can select the existing account, no need to create a new one.
Make sure it's not in use with another provider.

📝 Step 5: Fill Out Your Business Information (If creating a new WhatsApp Business account)
You’ll be asked to enter:
- Company name
- Website
- Country
Then, set up your Business Profile:
- Business description
- Website
- Business hours (optional)
- Address (optional)
- Profile picture or logo
This is what guests will see when they receive a WhatsApp message from you.

☎️ Step 6: Verify Your Phone Number
To activate WhatsApp, you’ll need to verify the phone number that will be used for messaging. There are two possible scenarios:
🔹 If you are using your own number:
- The number must not be active on WhatsApp Personal or Business.
If it is, you’ll need to delete the WhatsApp account linked to it before continuing.
🗑️ Deleting the account is required to free the number for WhatsApp API use.
This will permanently remove any chat history tied to the number.
👉 How to delete your WhatsApp account:
🔹 If Bookboost is providing the number:
👉 Make sure you are logged into Bookboost and select SMS as the sending method so that the code is delivered to the Bookboost inbox. The code will appear there.
📞 Call or SMS?
During the verification step, you’ll be asked how you want to receive the 6-digit code:
- SMS – for mobile numbers
- Phone call – for mobile or landline
Once you receive the code, enter it in the form to continue.


🚀 Step 8: Activation
Once you’ve completed the setup steps, please let us know by:
- Leaving a note in the shared portal, or
- Sending an email to onboarding@bookboost.io
✅ From there, the Bookboost team will take care of the final activation steps for you. We'll let you know as soon as your WhatsApp channel is ready to use. 🎉 ⏳ After you inform us, Meta will review and approve your WhatsApp Business account and phone number. This verification process usually takes 2–3 business days before your channel is fully activated.
