📥 Import Customer Data files
A step-by-step guide to importing your customer data file into Bookboost, from uploading a file to creating an audience for your campaigns.
Step 1: Prepare the File

- Duplicate the Template
- Before making any changes, create a copy of the template.
- The first column provides formatting instructions, follow these carefully to prevent errors. Once your data is correctly formatted, delete the first column before importing.
- Save the File:
- The preferred format is CSV, but Excel can also be used.
⚠️ Important: Improper formatting may cause the import to fail.
Step 2: Import the File into Bookboost
Note only applicable for Multi-Property Accounts: If you manage multiple properties, select the correct App before importing the file. You can switch Apps by clicking on the top left corner next to the Bookboost logo.

- Go to the Import Section:
- Navigate to Profiles > Import.
- Click the “+” (plus icon) in the top right corner to start a new import.

- Select and Upload the File:
- Choose the file from your computer and upload it.

- Map the Columns:
- Follow the on-screen instructions carefully. Ensure that the columns in your file are correctly mapped to the corresponding fields in Bookboost.

- Wait for the Import to Complete:
- The time required depends on the file size. Larger files may take longer to process.
Step 3: Add Guests to a List
If you plan to send campaigns to the imported guests, you should add them to a list.
- Create a List:
- Navigate to Profiles > List.
- Click the “+” (plus icon) in the top right corner to create a new list.
- Enter a name for the list (the category field is optional).

- Go to the Import Section and add Users to the List:
- In Profiles > Import, find your uploaded file.
- Click the eye icon to access “View Details”.
- Select the file(s) you want to add to a list.
- Click “Add Users to List”.

Step 4: Use the List for a Campaign
- Create an Audience:
- Go to the Audience and create a new audience.
- From the Audience builder, apply the filter “Guest List”.

- Set Up a Campaign:
- Once your audience is created, add it to a Journey or Broadcast Campaign in Bookboost.
