How can we help? 👋

👂 Audiences

The Audiences support you in targeting the right guests at the right time.

What are the Audiences for?

When integrating your PMS with Bookboost, you can make use of the guest data and start creating your Audiences.

🤓 Audiences are also known as Segments

It allows you to target specific segments, making it easier to provide guests with the right information at the right time.

For example:

  • In the case of a Returning Guest, it is nice to elevate their experience by sending a more personalised message such as:
    •
”We are very happy to see you with us again, John. As you already know your way around, let us know if there’s something we can help you with.”

  • In the case of Up and Cross-selling services (related or not to the guest's stay), you can send a specific SMS or WhatsApp message to a targeted guest segment that only booked a room without breakfast.

“You are almost with us, and we look forward to welcoming you at your home away from home. In case you would like to add breakfast to your stay, you can do so by responding to this message or clicking on the link.”

An Overview of Audience and its Functionality

How to start building your own Audiences?

🤩
We are all about making your life easier at Bookboost. For that reason, and among many other setups we do for you, we also create a few Audiences that are most common to be used in the Campaigns section.

When creating an Audience, you can apply different filters to categorize your guests and narrow your segment.

For example, the number of guests, length of stay, language, etc.

Note: The usability of the filters depends on the data collected from your PMS.

You will see a preview of the guests matching the filter in the right part of the screen.

You can apply one or more filters as you like.

How does the Audience logic work?

You can better understand the logic behind creating an Audience watching with this video:

It is important to understand that the Audience is one of the most powerful tools you have at your disposal to target very specific guest segments and their particular needs.

We highly recommend investing the needed time for you to comprehend the logic and usage of this potent feature.

Adding Multiple Audiences

Campaigns allow you to add several audiences to a single journey or broadcast. When adding multiple audiences, it is important to know that campaigns use OR logic for audiences.

This means that if you have two audiences on a single journey, that message will be sent to everyone who is in either audience.

For example, if you have a journey with two audiences on it: Guests who booked at least 7 days in advance and Reservations with at least one child on them, everyone in both audiences will receive the message. So, guests who booked 3 months in advance but have no children will receive the message, and guests who booked the day before with one child will also receive the message.

Adding Multiple Filters to Audiences or Inboxes

Audiences and inboxes allow you to add multiple filters to customize them to best fit your needs. When you are adding multiple filters, it is important to know that filters use AND logic. This means that if you have more than one filter, a guest or a message must pass every filter to be included in that audience or inbox.

For example, imagine you are creating an audience with two filters: Time booked ahead is greater than 7 days AND “Number of guests” is at least one child. This means that every reservation in that audience has to have both a lead time of 7 days and have at least one child.

A reservation with 3 children booked 6 days in advance will not be included, and neither will a reservation made 3 months in advance with no children, but a reservation with 3 children made 3 months in advance will be included.
